“A very inspiring, potentially (for some, anyway) life-changing experience: why don’t all organists study this stuff when we’re younger?”
“Thank-you very much indeed for a fantastic four days!”
Seventeen students gathered for the Tenth London Organ Improvisation Course in July 2010, playing organs at St. James, Clerkenwell, Notre Dame de France, London; St. Giles, Cripplegate and St. Botolph’s, Aldgate. Comments following the 2007 Course
“Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed last week’s course. It opened windows which had never occured to me before.”
“What a splendid week that was! I had a really great time and learnt a ridiculous amount: in fact, to make the most of it I’m going to have to improvise formally every Sunday (maybe both Offertory and Entry) until it comes together. LOIC has given me the roadmap, no question.”
“Very many thanks to you and your colleagues for such an interesting, entertaining and useful course. I can truthfully say that it is a long time since I learned so much in so short a time. And as one who is himself frequently teaching, it was a fascinating experience to become a student once more and experience teaching from the other side – I learned a lot in that way too. I hope that LOIC continues to thrive; and I shall be recommending it to all my students.”
“Thank you for the wonderful experience of the Improvisation Course. I have learnt so much and have so much to explore. It was just great.”
“That was great fun!!!!! Thank you so much.”
